One giant leap

‘You look like a space man.’

‘What?’ Benny said, trying to lift the visor of the motorcycle helmet.

‘An astronaut.’

‘My head feels as if it’s inside a giant padded sock.’

‘Are you going to test it?’

‘Give it a tap first.’

Stuey rapped his knuckles on the hard plastic.

‘Didn’t feel a thing.’

Benny clambered up on the front wall, turning to face the lawn.

‘Ready?  One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.’

He performed a graceless dive, the helmet clunking heavily on the ground.

‘Awesome!’ Stuey shouted.  ‘Did it work?’

Benny didn’t answer or move.

A drabble is a story of exactly 100 words.

Oh, that's scary, Rob! I love that sudden end - it adds such a great 'punch' to the story.
